1. What is the format of the Olympiad?

  • QUESTION PAPER INSTRUCTIONS

    • Each question is followed by four alternatives 1, 2, 3 and 4.
    • For each question there is only one correct option.
    • There is NO negative marking for section I & III.
    •  ̶ 1 Negative marking in Section II.

2. Which subjects will be covered?
A:

Grade 6-10

    • Science-Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Awareness and General English
    • Maths

Grade 11-12

  • PCB and PCM, English and General Awareness.

 

3. What is the duration of exam?
A:
  • 6-10: Exam Duration-2 hours 30 mins
  • 11-12: Exam Duration-2 hours 30 mins 
4. What is the role of the school?
A:
  • School to create awareness about the importance of the exam and ask them to focus on the basic concepts from the topics of their syllabus.
  • Incase of offline examination, schools should provide assistance on scrutinizing in the examination hall and smooth exam conduction process with close cooperation with the Avidii on ground team.
5. How will the students prepare?
A:
  • Learn the curriculum- Familiarize with the Olympiad exam syllabus and pattern before starting the preparation.
  • Focus on the syllabus of their respective boards
  • Make a study schedule or timetable to cover the entire syllabus and important topics well before the exam.
  • Organize early-Starting the preparation as early as possible to avoid last-minute stress and cramming. Students have to review the basic concepts and formulas from your school textbooks.
  • Make notes and highlight important points while studying.
  • Paste the important formulas on the piece of paper in front of the study table, to make the revision easier.
  • Practice daily-Practice makes perfect, especially for Olympiads that test your speed, accuracy, and problem-solving skills. Students to solve  as many questions as they can
  • Avidii mock papers to be solved before the exam.
  • This will help you to improve your conceptual understanding, application skills, time management, and confidence.
  • Assess your progress.-Monitor the performance and progress regularly by taking mock tests or solving sample papers under exam conditions. This will help to identify the strengths and weaknesses, analyze mistakes, and work on them accordingly.
  • Revise thoroughly.-Revision is the key to success in any exam, especially Olympiads that test the memory and recall skills. Revise all the topics and concepts that have been studied at least once a week.
6. What is meant by an orientation program?
A:
  • An Olympiad orientation program framework is a set of guidelines and activities that help prepare students for participating in the examination.
  • This gives them an opportunity to understand the competitive environment.
7. What will happen during the orientation program?
A:

The Orientation covers: 

  • The orientation program will target mainly the preparation strategy, the tips and tricks, the exam pattern, syllabus and will help the students to discuss all their thoughts and doubts about the examination process.
  • How Avidii can assist the students and benefits of the olympiad
8. Which syllabus will be covered in the exam?
A: The syllabus of their respective standard State board will be covered as the basic syllabus.
9. What is role of external agencies?
A: The external agencies(NGOs) will be the on ground person who will help in taking the registration process and/ or fee collection.
10. How does logistically work?
A: The examination will primarily be:
  • Offline - In the school centers
  • We may add an online option if the required infrastructure is available with the students.
11. How do you conduct a fair exam?
A:
  • Offline- Along with school teachers, team Avidii will be there for scrutinizing in the examination hall.
  • During a physical exam, a fair assessment is ensured by providing clear instructions and guidelines, using unbiased proctors for monitoring, randomizing question orders, securing exam materials till exam date, and implementing time management. Equal opportunities and accessibility for all participants are maintained, and regular review processes are in place for improvement.
  • In case an online version of exam is added
      • In online mode-Proctoring facility will be available
      • Also incase of network or system glitch, the student will not lose time, the clock will resume from the same stopped/ paused time.
12. How are you ensuring that the Olympiad test aligns with the educational standards and learning objectives for participants?
A: We are following the standard syllabus of the respective state boards and conducting an analysis of the topics covered by schools. Based on this assessment, we are including only the relevant syllabus in the Olympiad test to ensure alignment with educational standards and learning objectives.
13. What measures have you taken to prevent any potential leaks of the Olympiad test questions and maintain the confidentiality of the exam?
A: The questions for the Olympiad will be strictly handled by the academics department of Avidii. They will not be shared with anyone, including Avidii staff, until the day before the exam, ensuring the utmost confidentiality and preventing any potential leaks and maintaining confidentiality.
14. What contingency plans are in place in case of technical issues or unforeseen circumstances that may affect the exam arrangements?
A:
  • Technical Support: Offer technical support to students before and during the exam. This can include a dedicated helpline or email address where students can reach out for assistance with technical difficulties.
  • Communication Plan: Establish a clear communication plan to notify students of any technical issues or changes in exam arrangements. Use multiple channels such as email, SMS, and online platforms to ensure everyone receives the information.
  • Contingency Contact Person: Appoint a designated person or team to handle any emergency situations during the exam. This person should be available throughout the exam duration to address issues promptly.
  • Mock Exams: Prepare a plan for conducting make-up exams for students who face severe technical issues that prevent them from completing the original exam.
